Sir troth,

Just remove the following from the Boot.ini, but do not delete it ,as the PC
will not boot up!! You would then have to replace it, or reload the OS
again!!

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Previous Operating System on C:"

Make sure you copy the ini file to a floppy, in case things go wrong, as
then you can restore it to get the OS working.

I'm trying to remove the PREVIOUS OPERATING SYSTEM option on my BOOT.INI
file, so it no longer asks me at start-up which operating system I want to
boot into. Is it safe to just delete the BOOT.INI file, since there only is
one operating system on the computer? Or, is it safer to just manually
modify the BOOT.INI file? And, if the latter, here's my BOOT.INI file...
what do I remove?
.
.....BEGIN FILE TEXT.....
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Previous Operating System on C:"

.....END FILE TEXT.....
