this is true! and we all have different 'needs'. My big thing on the computer for years was OE stationery. I dont' make it anymore, but I do receive it still from friends. I enjoy it (I know, there are some security risks with html) - but it is worth it to me. As you said, there will be different 'quirks' and problems with all of the different programs. The thing I wish would happen would be for more e-mail clients to 'get along' better with others! like - html - not necessarily stationery, but even e-mails - that seem regular to me, can't be viewed by other e-mail clients. I get emails in sometimes - and I don't know what program the original sender used - my mom sends them to me as an attachment - and they come in with a .email extension. In order for me to view them, I need to save it and change the extension to .eml - some sort of - I guess it would be - standardization, would be nice - Maybe if AOL does in fact change their format to be more like OE now that they won the lawsuit to be allowed to do that, other clients will do the same. I don't see microsoft changing the way their clients work. Even though they are putting things in place which will at some point eliminate being able to use stationery in OE. Like their patches which prevent people from viewing EOT fonts now, and seeing more than one embedded image - CrisS ----- Original Message ----- From: ~OoO~ To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2003 10:00 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: GOING IN CIRCLES Netscape mail was the first client I ever used for a POP address. I actually liked it back in the v4.7 days. Not sure how it is now. But, after I switched to OE, I was using it ever since. Just recently I switched to Eudora, and was using that for about 2 weeks. Just yesterday I switched back to OE. To make a long story short, Eudora, while I liked it VERY much, did a few things that I couldn't change. And, after I honestly tried VERY hard to like it and continue using it, it got to the point where I had to switch back. So, I'm back on OE. Whatever client works best for you... that's what I say. ---Troth ----- Original Message ----- From: James Macmillan To: tech help Sent: Wednesday, October 01, 2003 12:47 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- GOING IN CIRCLES Hi Folks, downloaded spam inspector, long story, no emails not even spam, lost outlook express &internet explorer, could not download a new version, said it was already installed, where?????? could not locate it I run xp went everywhere looking for it so last resort installed netscape 7.02 and must admit I am delighted with it, though guess I must be the only one on this list using it I suppose????? not going back to outlook express etc kind regards James Sydney Australia ps even my isp is running better no disconnection's with idle time etc To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
