To remove a printer, you wouldn't go to ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. You need to go, like you asked, to MY COMPUTER > PRINTERS. Make sure the printer is off, then delete it from the list. Then, restart the computer with the printer off. After the computer restarts, turn the printer back on. Then go back to MY COMPUTER > PRINTERS and ADD PRINTER (or the alternate way would be to just stick the CD that came with that old printer into the drive and have it start automatically). What I would suggest, however, is to see if you can get an updated driver for that printer from their site. Then, do the ADD PRINTER and use the new drivers for it. ..::[ Sir Troth ]::.. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ICQ: 1717439 AIM: SirTrothX MSN: SirTroth@xxxxxxxxxxx YAHOO: SirTroth :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ----- Original Message ----- From: SandiBeach To: pctechtalk Sent: Friday, September 05, 2003 12:21 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Epson 640 Printer I purchased a new printer, an Epson Photo 825, but reconnected my old one to use for routine stuff since it uses less ink. It worked fine for a while but now it refuses to print, saying it is out of paper. It is not out of paper and the paper out light does not come on either. Has anyone ever had this problem? Any remedy? I tried to e-mail Epson but it seems they no longer have e-mail support (or I was having a bad day and could not find it). Second issue: Since the 640 is an old printer purchased in 1998 it is hardly worth the hassle of seeking a fix. I did try going to add/remove programs and thought I would try that but it is not in add/remove programs. The new 825 is there but not the 640. Can I just go to My Computer, Printers and right click and delete the 640? Will that do it? Thanks guys for wading through this. Hope someone can advise me. Oh, yeah, I am running Win 98 SE.
