Hi Sandy, A Differential backup contains all files changed since the last full= backup. Advantage of differential backup is shorter restore time. From Google<G> It takes me about 2 hours to backup my 80 gig hard drive. 25 min for the 20gig OS (C) partition only. A USB drive or a laptop is the fastest grab it and run method for getting out of the house in a hurry. About how long does it take to do a full backup? Like hours and hours? I doubt I will need to be as thorough as you have been as I really have nothing major to lose. I am just trying to simplify restoration after a reformat. Also wanted something I could grab in a hurry and run with it in= the event of fire, flood (not likely in Kansas!),tornado, etc. I have important stuff on CDs and floppies but they are never really up to date. I wanted something that would update (backup) on a scheduled basis so I would= always have current stuff. Sandi P.S. I recall reading about a secure place on the C Drive that could be created. That seemed to be different than the section called "Creating another hard drive". I also read that one should do scan disk and defrag before doing the clone. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike the mod" <mikebike@xxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2007 5:43 PM Subject: -=3DPCTechTalk=3D- Re: Backing Up > Hi Sandi, > I have Acronis True Image 10 now and it's feature are here; > > <http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/features.html> -- Please remember to trim your replies (including this sentence and everything below it) and adjust the subject line as necessary.
