Trudy, there seems to be a pretty significant issue w/those using
Google anything on Kyocera phones. The only solution appears to be
rooting the device, which I'm not sure I would recommend, as, if done
incorrectly, it'll cause the phone to become unusable (the term most
often used for such a state is "bricked", i.e., what it turns into if
that happens).

Could u disable Google & try signing into GMail using Safari?

Thank you so much, Jackie.
My Operating system is updating regularely, last update was just a few days
ago.
My device is Kyocera Hydro Vibe, model no. C6725. It runs on Android 4.4.2.
Yeah, I know I will lose a lot of stuff, and that is part of the reason why
I don't want to do that if I can help it.
Also, it may not resolve my problem, since it looks like it is hacked
through google - nothing google works anymore. No hangouts, no gmail, no
google play store...
Hope you have a great weekend, and - as always - your input is so much
appreciated.
Trudy
