Scandisk will run from DOS. Go to the C:\windows\command directory (or equivalent you have) and type: SCANDISK C: /AUTOFIX there are other options like /ALL checks all local drives /SURFACE does a surface scan as well Still the problem could be any of: 1) Corruption of windows files 2) Spyware 3) Virus infection Cyril Halbach wrote: > A friend of mine runs Windows 98 OS as well as broadband Cable >internet.
