RUTHLESS RECORDS CO-FOUNDER JERRY HELLER DIES LOS ANGELES (AP) The
former manager for N.W.A has died. Jerry Heller died Friday night at a
hospital in Thousand Oaks, California, after suffering a heart attack
earlier that day, according to his cousin, Gary Ballen. Heller was 75.
Heller co-founded Ruthless Records with Eazy-E and helped launch
N.W.A's career. The family of Eazy E says in a statement that Heller
"gave the world Eazy E and N.W.A, and for that, we are forever
grateful. Michel'le (mee-shel-LAY'), who was signed to Ruthless
Records, tweets a photo of Heller and adds, "Rest in Peace, my friend.
Thank you for all that you did for us. Actor Paul Giamatti portrayed
Heller in the "Straight Outta Compton" movie. FRED HELLERMAN OF THE
WEAVERS DIES WESTON, Conn. (AP) The last surviving founding member of
The Weavers has died. Fred Hellerman died Thursday at his home in
Weston, Connecticut, after a lengthy illness, according to his son.
Hellerman was 89. Hellerman formed The Weavers in 1948 with Pete
Seeger, Lee Hays and Ronnie Gilbert. Their recordings of "Goodnight
Irene" and "On Top of Old Smoky" helped inspire the popularity of folk
music in the 1950s and '60s. Hellerman also produced the Arlo Guthrie
