NFL AND PEPSI DENY THEY ASKED ADELE TO DO SUPER BOWL LOS ANGELES (AP)
The NFL and Pepsi are poking holes in Adele's claim that she turned
down the Super Bowl halftime show. Adele had told the audience at her
Los Angeles concert over the weekend that she got an offer and she said
no. The NFL and Pepsi, which sponsors the halftime show, issued a
statement denying they ever extended "a formal offer. They say they
have had conversations with several artists about doing the show but
have not offered it to anyone yet. ERYKAH BADU RAISES MONEY TO PROCESS
DETROIT RAPE KITS DETROIT (AP) Erykah Badu is pledging a portion of her
future concert proceeds to help Detroit wipe out its backlog of
unprocessed rape kits. The Detroit Free Press reports Badu made the
announcement after her concert in Detroit on Saturday. More than 11,000
unprocessed rape kits were found abandoned in a Detroit Police
Department storage unit in 2009, and local authorities don't have the
funds to process them. Badu says she hopes the venture brings peace to

SUFFERED FROM DEHYDRATION AND EXHAUSTION NEW YORK (AP) Alice Cooper
reveals the reason for Joe Perry's health scare this summer was that he
was pushing too hard. Cooper tells Rolling Stone that Perry collapsed
during a Hollywood Vampires show in New York in July because of
dehydration and exhaustion. Cooper says Perry had told him the night
before he had not eaten in two days. Cooper says Aerosmith normally
does two shows a week, but Hollywood Vampires were on their eighth show
in nine days because that's the speed Cooper is used to working. He
says Perry was not ready for that kind of pace. Perry rejoined the tour
after he recovered. ALESSIA CARA SAYS HER BIGGEST CRITICS ARE WOMEN
CHICAGO (AP) Alessia Cara (ah-LES'-ee-ah KAH'-rah) has grabbed
headlines with her song "Scars To Your Beautiful," which is about the
extremes that people go to for beauty purposes. What she didn't expect
is that her most vocal critics would be other women. Cara says the most
negative comments came especially from women older than her who did not
like the way she dressed or did her hair. She says the frustrating part
is that those women are probably insecure and think that there's one
standard of beauty and she's not it. Cara says it made her realize she
needs to keep speaking out about how beauty comes in many different
