Hi, Marty:
I remember her and I heard that she had become a minister. I saw her on
Christian TV shows. I was glad about her conversion to Christianity and I'm
sorry she has died.

Hi, Marty,
I heard about Vanity on the news yesterday and it’s sad even though I wasn’t
a fan of hers.

VANITY - OBIT UNDATED (AP) She was one of Prince's sexy protégés. But she
left show business to pursue a life as a minister. The performer known as
Vanity has died. A spokeswoman for a hospital in Fremont, California says she
died yesterday but didn't provide a cause of death. However, her sister says
Vanity died of complications from longstanding kidney issues. Vanity was born
Denise Matthews in Niagara Falls, Ontario and first rose to fame through her
association with Prince and the 1980s girl group, Vanity 6. She began using
crack cocaine and other drugs and she said that caused her kidneys to fail.
Her sister says Vanity was happier in recent years noting that while she
loved her time in the 1980s, she seemed to enjoy her recent time more because
she was at peace. Vanity was 57. Sound: 003-r-30-(Sound of Vanity 6,
