ADELE'S WARM-UP NEW YORK (AP) A baseball pitcher will spend time in the
bullpen warming up for a big game. Adele is loosening up her vocal
cords for her upcoming concert tour by working out the kinks in a
concert set for Friday. It will be at the Wiltern theater in Los
Angeles. The show comes three days before the Grammys and a couple of
weeks before she launches her tour of North America and Europe. And
that concert swing includes six nights at the Staples Center where the
Grammys will be held on Monday. JACKSON BROWNE ADDED TO GLENN FREY
TRIBUTE AT GRAMMYS NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Since the start of this year,
music has lost some key veteran artists like David Bowie and Maurice
White of Earth Wind and Fire. The Grammy people have firmed up plans to
play tribute to one of who was lost recently: Eagles co-founder Glenn
Frey. Among those signed on to help honor Frey is Jackson Browne who
teamed up with Frey on "Take It Easy," the Eagles' first big hit and
one of their signature tunes. Brown will join the Eagles' Don Henley,
Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit and Bernie Leadon for a performance Monday
during the Grammys ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
TARGET - GWEN STEFANI NEW YORK (AP) Gwen Stefani will perform live at
the Grammys. But in an ad, not on the show itself. Target says it will
sponsor a four-minute live video by Stefani during the Grammy Awards on
CBS. She will do the song "Make Me Like You," which drops tomorrow. The
pairing is an attempt by the retailer to get attention and to
capitalize on the trending topic of live performances on TV. But it's
an expensive gamble. Four minutes of prime-time network advertising
time runs into the millions of dollars. VINCE GILL - HOT FOR HOCKEY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Vince Gill says he's glad the sporting world got
a chance to see Nashville with its boots all shined up and its party
atmosphere on full blast. The city played host to the NHL All-Star Game
last weekend and Gill says the city put on a real nice show. He says he
was proud that Music City was able to show the NHL and its fans things
other towns can't. Gill was a big part of the weekend. He was an
honorary coach for one of the teams, was interviewed on national TV and
even got to spend time with his old hockey bud, Barry Trotz, who
coached in Nashville before taking over the helm with the Washington
