ORIGINAL JEFFERSON AIRPLANE SINGER SIGNE ANDERSON DIES NEW YORK (AP)
The same day Jefferson Airplane guitarist Paul Kantner died, so did the
band's original lead singer. Rolling Stone reports Signe (SIG'-nee)
Anderson died Thursday at the age of 74. A cause of death was not
given. Kantner also died Thursday at the age of 74. His cause of death
was organ failure and septic shock. Their bandmate, Marty Balin, writes
on Facebook Anderson and Kantner probably woke up in heaven and said,
"Hey what are you doing here? Let's start a band," then they were
joined by late drummer Spencer Dryden. Anderson appeared on Jefferson
Airplane's debut album, then left after she gave birth to a child. She
