1) In init.ora set up os_authent_prefix
2) create user identified externally
3) grant sysdba to that user

should work then

I'm not positive how this works on HP but check your sqlnet.ora file for =
sqlnet_authentication=3D(NTS).

Hi!

What parameters need to be set to allow

connect / as sysdba on 9i?

On my db this is disabled. Only "connect sys/pwd@database as sysdba" =
works.

Any ideas?

This is 9.2 on HP-UX.

Thanks,
Helmut
