We configure autoextend, but set the maxsize to limit the damage if a buggy
code eats up the space quickly.
In the case of steady, i.e. “normal” growth, the monitoring job silently
extends the tablespace. When the growth is suspiciously quick, the check
generates an alert which has to be investigated.

I am maybe andold fashioned DBA in that I prefer Autoextend to be turned off on
all our databases.
It's particularly risky when developers are allowed to 'develop' on the Prod
databases. (We are moving away from that)
Do you all allow autoextend or prohibit it?
