No, no fond memories.
I remember a system unready for an alpha test thrown into production. I
remember hours trying to get simple things done. I remember hours trying
to explain, over and over, what was most broken. I remember fuming over
Oracle's response to some of my complaints by removing the feature. I
remember promises to keep various URL formats to enable "permanent links"
and "permanent tabs", only to allow (both HTML and Flash) sessions to
sometimes become unusable due to session timeout ON MY COMPUTER IN A LOCKED
ROOM.
If the same people designed the new system, I don't see how the coders can
turn it into a system we will respect, let alone like.
" testing the new framework on the self-selected squeakiest wheels" ... I
like that ;-) On the other hand, if we like it, they have a partner. If
we don't like it, our expressions of exasperation will have waned by the
time the other 90% come on board.
