I've been using Nikon cameras for years mainly because of their quality lenses.
Although I've never been able to afford a telephoto lens which is essential
for bird photography. Recently I've purchased a Nikon P900 which is now my
favorite camera. It's perfect for birding. I carry and use it more than I use
binoculars! It does require a tripod - I'm using a Manfrotto 055XBPRO with a
128RC QR head.
As well as having a setting especially for birding, it takes great HD video.
