I have to jump on the Panasonic Lumix DMC200 bandwagon. I loved my DMC100, but
couldn't resist the 200 and bought one as soon as the rave reviews started
stacking up. It's a wonderful camera, not only for birds but for flowers and
butterflies and landscapes and videos. I even use it for occasional shots of
people :). It's light enough to be carried all day. The quality is good
enough to stand up to serious cropping. You can even shoot in RAW mode, should
you so choose. The improvements on the DMC300 sound lovely, too; if price is
not a serious object, I always vote for getting the newest model (but though
I'm not trading in my 200 just yet).

Subject: [obol] your favorite camera for bird photography
Hi everyone, I’m going to upgrade my camera (currently a decent
point-and-shoot) to better photograph birds on the trip to Australia later this
year. Any recommendations?
Thanks!
