As was mentioned i an earlier post, there is lots of early fall movement in
the Florence area. Here are some highlights:
3 YR Warblers in the Siuslaw river jettys area.
8 Ring Billed Gulls at South Jetty
1 Bittern at the dog pond
Shorebirds at N jetty Mudflats:
8 Barids Sandpiers - Seems like a high number
70 Western Sandpipers
14 Least Sandpiper
Single Lesser Yellowlegs
In old town:
1 Marbled murrelet - Seems pretty far up river for one
7 GW Gulls
A good few osprey around the area.
Also to note was a Starling in full winter plumage in old town! Not used to
seeing that this early in the year.
