Hello again Birders,
I still think it is probably an eagle... I have been searching for other (in
focus) photos of eagles in similar poses just for comparison. This is a good
photo I found on Flickr of an eagle is a very similar pose.

If it is a goose, than what is the reddish colored thing at the lower righthand
side of its body? I think it is prey that the eagle is carrying... Also, a
goose does have white under the tail, but the tail is dark... The bird in my
photo is white on top of what would be either be the head or the "butt".
I guess we'll never know what it really is... but it sure was exciting for me
when I found it!
