Yes, exactly that, Andy. (Sorry, Wayne.) Obviously I'm another of the confused. 
So I use Safari merely to access Rogers/Yahoo's e-mail function, whereas Mail 
would access the internet through (in my case) Rogers/Yahoo, but then use its 
own built-in e-mail function there? In any event, I find the Safari/Rogers 
route simpler. Is there any real advantage to Mail, apart from its just feeling 
more intuitive to some people?

Safari is just a web browser and does not have any email capabilities  
of it's own.
