Welcome back Peter! and Hi Pam. If y'all get something worked out on this would you mind sharing? Maybe we could do a 3-way development thing? I too have an Access DB for inventory and it works fine for what it is but I'm wanting to slick it up a bit and make it more useful and user friendly. I'm tracking items that get loaned and returned on a regular basis so I'm always subtracting and adding back in and scheduling inventory out for the future. All help appreciated. /g -----Original Message----- From: Peter Chiavaro [mailto:kp@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, December 04, 2002 7:33 AM To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Re: access Hi Pam, I've been out of town for several months so some of the "regulars" on = this list may be surprised to see me posting again. Hi Linda, G & D Chapman, Mr. Colli, and Mr. La Borde and the rest of the = gang.... I just got back from Kentucky, and I have a few new racehorses = in my stable. (we're gonna make a TON of money at the O.T.B. this = winter) So Pam, the answer to your question is YES... of course. MS Access can = do anything with data.=20 I am very proficient with Access and I'd be more than willing to help. The absolute best way to handle this would be for me to see the fields = in your table. Then I'd have to know what you would like to do. = Otherwise, by the time we go back and forth with detailed explanations = in 100 different emails, we could grow old. (I do hunt n peck typing... = <mostly hunt>) Sounds like all you might need is a basic "form" that looks at the = table, with perhaps a few command buttons to perform some calculations, = or move from record to record etc. The best way to handle this would be to let me design the form, and when = I send it back to you, you could take a look at what I have done, and = learn from there. I would NOT need to see the actual data in the table, = but just the structure of the table so don't worry about having to give = up any company secrets. <G> So, if you'd like to continue along these lines, you could Email me off = list and I'll tell you exactly what to do. Again... I'd be more than = happy to help out. MS Access is Soooo much fun! My Email address is kp@xxxxxxxx I work with my horses in the morning, and have all my afternoons free. Peter C. I have most of the inventory = saved in an Access database already. Is there a way to use Access to add and subtract from inventory, and maybe even spit out an invoice? I would need to set it up so that it would be easy for inexperienced computer users could enter the increases and decreases.
