Jim,
I have had exactly the same problem with Word 2007. I eventually contacted
Microsoft and an engineer phoned me back and tried to sort it out. The only
thing he could do in the end was to suggest that my profile had been
corrupted somehow and I should create a new profile. This certainly allowed
Word 2007 to work properly again, but I am still considering how to move all
my files from the corrupt profile to the new working one!

I have a problem that my mouse clicks anywhere in a document are ignored. I
have to use the arrow keys to move around the document. I can use the mouse
to make menu selections, but I cannot use the mouse to select a word or
position the cursor in a document.
What option has caused this unwanted feature? How do I turn it off?
