Hi Linda. I grew up on WP 5.0 for DOS and that's the group I converted to Word about 9 years ago. The one thing they loved was keyboard shortcuts. The other thing they liked most about WP was Reveal Codes. That showed them the on/off switches for formatting and tabs (actually very much like basic HTML). The closest thing I find in XP is Reveal Formatting that displays along the right. The various views in Word will be of interest also. Encourage them to use Print Layout so they can see what the finished product will be like. I don't think mail merge is all that different but they will need to know how to format merged fields and how to turn on and off field codes. Think of WP users as somewhat more technical than the typical mouser/word user and show them the underpinnings. Good luck. This is a tough group to convert. /g -----Original Message----- From: Linda F. I have a job Monday teaching Word to a secretarial pool full of women who have been forced to switch from Word Perfect and are NOT happy (does this sound like heaven or what? Lol) Anyway...if anyone knows of the things that are most different and cause the most problems when you switch, I would love some advanced warning of what I am to expect....I know Styles are one thing I have to teach them and I know macros from Word Perfect cannot be converted, but must be made anew in Word...but that's about all I know, since I've hardly ever even seen Word Perfect Any input would be greatly appreciated...thanks.
