Jan, You can skip the middle step and just replaced the hard breaks with
spaces.

That's how I knew they were hard returns (I'm very attached to my
hidden characters button!)...I played around with it, and although
I still have to go through symbol by symbol, it's much easier using
the Find/Replace. I replaced the hard returns with line breaks,
then set it to replace the line breaks with a space (otherwise when
the line break is deleted, most of the time words run
together). When it hits a paragraph that needs to be there, I just
skipped it. For a quick and dirty fix, this works. However, by
removing the paragraph markers, I realize that I delete formatting
that might be attached to it. But since the stuff I'm copying is
plain text, would it really matter?

One other question. When a space was inserted, instead of the
usual "dot" that signifies a space, there appeared what looks like
a "degree" symbol (open circle). What is this?

Thanks, Linda. I forget about the Find feature too often, and I
learned some helpful stuff there.

Jan
