Hi Linda,
For the benefit perhaps of others who are blind I have determined a way
to clear the highlighting from a document such as I have had problems
with. If you select all the document with control plus letter a then go
to "tools" "options" and uncheck the checkbox for "highlighting".
Strange thing though I tried this same procedure in word 2000 and it
didn't work.

Paul. I received your file privately and I fixed it and sent it back to
you. As, I said, it was Highlighting so I just Selected All (ctrl+a)
and clicked on the Highlighting button and chose "None" but since you
are blind, I'm posting this to the group to see if any of the keyboard
wizards in here know what the keyboard shortcut is to remove
highlighting.
Anyone know? (I'm a major mouse gal so I don't)

Hi Dian,
Thank you for the help and all of you others that have been giving your
thoughts on this problem. Dian, I used your suggestion but it is not
getting rid of the black background which is behind some of the text
that is also black. Now this text is most likely some of what I imported
in. Linda, I tried giving the background of the file a white colour
but again no joy, it seems such a small problem yet is giving such
trouble in getting rid off.
