[mso] Outlook 2002

I'm just now using Outlook 2002

As always, M$ seems to remove features I like every time they add
features I like.

One example: the old Outlook told me, in the lower right, how many
messages it had to download and what number it was on.

The new one gives me only a percentage.

Since I get 1000+ emails per day, I like to know the NUMBER.

Granted, I can get this from the detail panel, but

is there a way to get it back on the lower right corner?

And a related question:

           who wanted it gone?
Was there a major user outcry for percentage?
