This is a thorny topic in here, Donna!

My position is that for flat-file, non-relational data, Excel wins every
time in terms of simplicity, speed and ease of use. A simple list of
contact data doesn't need an Access solution unless you want to add
relational data, like - for instance - a contact log where each contact
could have any number of records according to the number of times you
talk to them.

I'm wondering why in some organizations Excel spreadsheets are used more
often than Access to hold contact information.  Is it just because Excel
is so widely used for the spreadsheet info and is more easily accessible
and understood?

No one within these orgs can tell me why they use Excel over Access
either.  Just wondering.....
