Sometimes if you even accidentally scrolled there and just clicked in that cell, Excel thinks its now part of your data....but, usually, it's corruption....that's why David suggested you just copy everything and paste it into a new workbook.....sometimes this is just the first sign that the file is becoming corrupted and getting the data out of there and into a new file can usually prevent having future problems with the file. This is why I stress BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP....if ANY file is important to you, always keep a second copy somewhere......this is computers, remember, and files become corrupted all the time.
