Welcome to the List and Gang of Steam Addicts & Fine Mechanics.
I've hd the chance to get sept/oct-nov/dec issues of Live Steam ( difficult to 
get this mag in France), so are you the one riding the 'beast' on sept/oct 
issue ?
Yep. Another question. Why do you use a so thick (1") plate for the main frame 
? Is it to increase the adhesion to the track?
I think this is a nice project for a beginner ( I'm one of this kind ...) . Few 
months ago I sollicitated the guidance of our Seniors Fellows for my first loco 
and received very nice and wise advices but I think Newbie is fairly good in 
terms of skill needed and money spent (my income dramatically changed since 
last june, no job !)
