Hi Paul,

Didn't know you were into 71/4" gauge, I expect then you will need to
join another club, I'll give you a reference for Wollyampton if you
want!

In response to the request to know more about new members, here goes...

Have been a model engineer since 1979, started with a Tich and have
built 5 more locos since. These include an Ajax, Maid of Kent, Speedy,
Charlatan (Blackgates Battery loco) and a Sweet William

Divorce curtailed the contruction of my 6th loc, a 7.25" Sweet William,
which was finished my my very dear friend, Geoff Starbuck of the
Nottingham SMEE and can be seen hauling passengers regularly at their
Ruddington site.

My son retained the Tich and I kept the Maid of Kent (I love that
loco)...only so much you can keep in a one bedroomed flat!!

I was Hon Gen Sec of the Nottingham SM&EE for 3-4 years

Workshop in store and 4 locos sold on after the divorce, I moved to
Birmingham where I have joined the Kinver&WMSME where I first met IP
(from the list) Hi Ian... Have sent you some dates for our next curry!

Workshop has been fired up again and the new lady in my life has
demanded that I build her a Sweet Pea, cos she likes the shiny bits, and
I am well on with that at present as a 'quick build' Well that was the
theory but its taken 4 months to get some of the castings so far....

She has announced that she will be turning up at the club with her 'L'
plates in Summer (not if Blackgates have anything to do with it but
thats another thread)

Main interest has been 5" gauge but I want to grow up now and play with
the big boys (7.25" Gauge)

As you will already know, for a while, I played with the bigger boys on
the 15" gauge Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway where I was in the main
a signalman at Hythe and have had quite a bit of footplate experience in
the 2-3 years I went there. Even did some 5.00am in the morning
firelighting in on high season...A wonderful railway...

Hope this tells you something about me anyway

Rgds
