A performance uses parts. Each part contains one voice. You should look again
at the manual. The manual explains these terms.

From the Motif XS manual, chapter 6, Basic Structure, where the manual explains
how all of the different functions of the Motif are related...

----------
Performance

A program in which multiple Voices (Parts) are combined in a layer, or in other
configurations is referred to as a "Performance." Each Performance can contain
up to four different Parts (Voices). Each Performance can be created by editing
parameters unique to each part and parameters common to all the Parts.

----------

When you make a split, you set the ranges of each part in the Performance. You
probably made this adjustment in the editors from the Mixing Parts - General
tab. However, there are separate controls that set the ranges that the
arpeggiator will watch in order to figure out the harmonies that a part will
use. You need to control+tab into the arp settings, and then press alt+3 (I
think), to select the arp parts-Ranges page. This page has an upper and lower
limit for each of the four arp parts. This range controls the ranges that will
be used for creating the harmonies.

To answer your other question, you can only have four parts in the performance
mode. You can use another one of the parts by going to the Mixing Parts -
General page, switching to one of the four parts with control+1 through
control+4, and checking its "use" checkbox.

Subject: [MoAccess] here's my performancequestion again

Hi!
i try to explain it once more.
I have a performance.
When I play on my keyboard the performance starts.
But I want to make harmonychanges only with the lower keys.
i don't want th change the harmony, when I play the upper keys.
ho can I do this?
I splittet my instruments, and they are splitted allright.

A second question.
i have 3 tracks in the performance. or are they called parts?
How many parts can I use and how to ad a new part?
Regards Robert.
