Hi,You may try to follow this manual till step 5 and select something like get ip automatic, I do not have the correct text here, and see that the computer receives an ip address from the router.
When you open the menu the first choice something like dhcp must be checked. http://www.ehow.com/how_5847934_set-ip-address-macbook-pro.html Claus----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark BurningHawk Baxter" <markbaxter38@xxxxxxxxx>

Upon looking in network preferences on her MBP, I see the message "Airport has the self assigned IP 169.254.86.125 and will not be able to connect to the Internet.
I do not se a way to change this, nor do I know if I should use the usual 192.168.0.1or something else. I just used an IP finder, and I do see that this router's IP is 192.168.0.1. How do I tell it to use that address?
