OK so Boot camp is what you use for the dual boot. I would assume that everything is accessible? What about third party programs for the Mac, are most of them accessible? ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Poehlman" <david.poehlman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I don't use windows in the Mac environment because boot camp sets up a dual boot so you are running pure windows. I use the internet a lot on the Mac side, more than Jaws and I was a Jaws user for 14 years before I startedusing the Mac. One of the myths about voice over is it doesn't work well onthe web. In fact, the biggest problem with using the Mac on the web has more to do with the site biass toward ie than with the ability to use VoiceOver with safari on the web. Voice over is built into the operating system so we are still using the original voiceover that began with osx.4 and which has been updated along with each update of the os.----- Original Message ----- From: "VaShaun Jones" <vjones@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2007 3:57 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: jaws and vista with paralells:That is cool. How do you use the internet? I was reading old articles about Voice Over 1.0 and they all say that the internet is the biggest hurtles. Bythe way what version of Voice Over are they on now? How fast does Windows react in the MAC environment?----- Original Message ----- From: "David Poehlman" <david.poehlman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2007 3:51 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: jaws and vista with paralells:I'm using bootcamp with jaws and xp as I mention below with only the one issue with sound recorder----- Original Message ----- From: "VaShaun Jones" <vjones@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2007 2:02 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: jaws and vista with paralells: OK, so what do you recommend? I definantly want the MAC Book Pro, but I needa way to put JAWS and XP on it. I will get the highest performing MBP with 2GB of RAM and 2.GHZ dual core processors. I am doing this because I stillneed to train on Windows and I want to learn the accessibility in MAC.----- Original Message ----- From: "David Poehlman" <david.poehlman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2007 12:53 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] jaws and vista with paralells:You will most likely have issues with this combination. The ability to switch into windows apps from what I understand is not accessable. Jaws is not really ready for vista yet. I'm running xp on a MacBook using botcamp and it almost works except I cannot use sound recorder for some reason. I am also using an IMac with the same configuration with th same results. With xp and jaws, paralells has some video driver issues which may affectjaws performance.----- Original Message ----- From: "VaShaun Jones" <vjones@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2007 11:30 AM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: mudding client for mac: I found it Sorry to reply on this thread, however I am new to the list and desperately need your help. My name is Shaun and I am thinking of getting a Mac Book Pro. I will also be running Parallels with Vista. I would be new to both Mac and the Vista operating system, but not new to JAWS and XP. Can someone give me some advice as to what I am in for. For the next week or so I will have allot of questions along these lines.
