Hi Alex,

This is just the thing I wanted to use, but, I wondered about transfering the user information, if I do that, will that cause a problem, like having 2 computers on the network of the same name?

Hi, you can use migration assistant. Just takes a firewire cable and lets your "old" computer reincarnate in the new one. Very powerful application
and a miraculous experience: not only are files transferred, but also
passwords to websites, settings etc. I did it the other way round, from my macbook to my imac, and I can't imagine the process to be much different if
you do it like you are planning to do.

Hi folks,

We have an iMac and we have a new macbook coming later this week. I
would like to have the information, you know, music, files, folders,
movies and all, on the macbook that I have on the iMac. What is the
best way to transfer the information?

Thanks.
