[macvoiceover] Re: Word Processing with SL

it might be fixed and then it might not and you could at least determine for the rest of us if not for your self whether the solution you have in hand is indeed a corrective measure.

It just really is a pain to do and I start back at school on thursday so I guess I'll wait for 10.6.1 which will likely solve tons of problems.

too much trouble is not solving the issue.

I probably could do it but unplugging all the cables and finding out if the braille display cable is long enough is too much trouble.

Can't you temporarily try the display on the main usb just to find out? At any rate, I wouldn't just resign myself to living with sluggish menus when other people don't have them. If all of us keep asking questions, we're bound to find your problem eventually.

Yes, sometimes if a USB device is on a usb hub, it will not get the required power.

It is true, at least in linux, that some devices or programs work fine
with a direct usb connection but not if the device is on a hub. I
don't know that this has anything to do with your problem but you
might try putting the display on a direct usb connection just to see
if it makes a difference.

well, you are in luck. in the commanders, there is a custom
keystroke item. an apple script or automator work flow could be
written and attached there.

The problem is that you have to go all the way to insert and
enter on insert page break. It would be so much easier if they would make a hotkey to do that like command enter or something.
Keith is correct, attributes do not work in pages but breaks do
and it reads which page you are on when you move.
This doesn't show up in braille though.
Apple has a ways to go especially with braille but they're
improving things with each new kitten so that's good. I just hope we don't have to wait for 10.7 for more accessibility features.
Oh, I don't know how to actually jump to a specific page or to
the next and previous one.

Good evening Mary Anne,

No one els has given this a try, so, I will give it a shot.

I see in the edit menu an incert menu which will allow to incert
page brakes. So I opened a doc in text edit and did so and
could not find a page brake, or, number, however, some one on
the list said that it was working.

Pages,

Pages breakes and number show up quite nicely in pages, however,
atributes do not seem to be working in pages at this time,
however, I am told that it is on the way.

Hi everybody. I was very happy to see that attributes are
working much better with SL.

I have a few questions.

First, I understand that it is now possible to tell what page
you are on using SL. How do you determine that?

I of course have Text Edit and Nisus Writer. But I'm also
interested in Pages too.

My next question is the ability to find a page break in a
document. Can that be done and how? I imagine it could be
done with find but is there a way of physically finding a
page break while reading the doucment?

Thank you all very much.
