Yes, I agree. THey have done a great job of making web browsing accessible. The only part I don't like, is having to hold down so many keys to get things done. I mean... holding down control, option, command, H just to move to the next heading, in my opinion, is overkill. Yes, you have the roter, but then you have to keep changing the roter settings. I think if they did the following things: -ability to use up/down arrow keys to navigate the page, like most other screenreaders -single letter navigation (H and shift H for headings, g and shift G for graphics, v and shift V for visited links, T and shift T for tables, etc) -make the web pages read more like a text file (this would make selecting and browsing so much easier) web browsing on the mac would be so much easier and a hole lot more enjoyable.

I'm not just trying to have a rant, but, at the moment, I spend more of my web browsing time on the mac trying to remember how many keys do what then I do, say, checking my youtube subscription uploads.

I agree,

In leopard, I avoided the web at all costs. windows had a faster, more
developed web browsing experience. That all changed with snow leopard. It
caught up, and past windows in certain regards to the point where I felt like
windows was no longer needed for the task.

Hi all,
While I've been a mac user for nearly 2 years now, One of th ethings I've never
been very good at is web browsing. To be honest, I found web browsing on the
mac almost annoying, probably because i'm used to using a windows screenreader,
and using just the arrow keys to navigate. One of the things in VO that I don't
like is constantly having to hold down multiple keys, and using the ctrl option
lock is just plain annoying.

However, ranting aside, does anybody have any tips, no of any guides, or any
useful resources, for using voiceover with safari (or any html content area for
that matter)?

I love the way voiceover does everything else, but the web experience needs to
be better.

Thanks for any suggestions!
Ash
