I like Keith’s suggestion of tying the first letter or two of the mailbox name
where you want to put the message. I also get that little itch when you *KNOW*
they’re not in the RIGHT order, and you can’t quite fix it perfectly… Sorry
about that. :)

within the “on my Mac,” directory. Where do you want to put them? You
can’t move them outside the Mail app, at least I don’t think you can;
maybe you could from Terminal, but I don’t know off the top of my head how
you’d go about that.
