I don't have an account with Face Book, but I am wondering if you couldn't
accomplish writing longer messages by first writing them in Text Edit and
then copying them to the clipboard and then pasting them into the Face Book
application?

I have also noticed that when I attempt to reply to a message on  
facebook, after writing a few sentences safari will say it encountered  
an error and needs to close.  . I tried this three times and got the  
same results.
