Good news John, I have now successfully created and now have the battery script
running!
Funny when you said about the script being downloaded and it wasn't till after
I sent my previous email asking for help that I checked the download folder and
found it there. But help was still needed because after I placed it into the
script folder tried the command didn't work then placed it into the Voiceover
folder it still didn't work. So what did I do your wondering.
Well I had a closer look at the scripts that were already created and
interacted with them. This didn't get me any further so I went to the add
button and found a blank added to the list. So I interacted with that one and
vo right. Now this is the funny part. As I was exploring what was here I
completely ignored the "menu button". Talk about being intimidated which by the
way all your advice is encouraging. So anyway after I VO spaced on that button
everything else slotted into place. Find the script add it and the only thing I
didn't know was the blank. So I tried calling it "Battery Status". Then got a
dialog box saying only one letter will do. So that was the last part of the
puzzle just called it B and bang! the script/keystroke worked!

I just wanted to share my experience with you and everyone else who might read
this post because in my case with your feedback explaining this and that at
times its just one little step I ignored and upon remembering what it was,
everything else was easy. I guess what I'm trying to say is know your
screenreader well and listen to every detail it gives you so you don't make any
mistakes.

Thanks

Daniel
