Unfortunately, no other windows were opened that I could get to with either
vo+F2 F2, nor with command+accent/grave.
I did file a bug report with a senior advisor, and he actually got a lab
machine and turned VO on, and had me walk him through it. He, too, had the
same problem. We went to the remote adminstration site they offer, and I
had him visually look at my screen. He confirmed that the mouse was oddly
enough doing exactly as voiceover was reporting.
Talk about weird! Anyway, he's gonna write up a report and send it to
engineering.
Please keep the replies coming though. If anyone knows anything or a way
around this, I'd still be very interested in knowing. I wanna get Match
eventually, but for right now, it's just not an option that I have in my
budget unless someone wants to kindly send me a belated BD gift of $30 this
seeing my BED was on Thanksgiving. the big 3? o! LOL! NO, I'm just
kidding, I'd not make yall do that, LOL!
Anyway, thanks for any help... heheheheh.
Chris.

I'm not sitting at your computer, so I have no idea what can be
happening from a technical standpoint. However, I have had this happen from
time to time where it doesn't seem like I am able to move the specific
pointers around. Usually, I find that there is a window open in background
that is somehow creating this problem.
Also, to be honest, I had little luck re-downloading previously
purchased songs and such until I did subscribe to iTunes match. I needed to
do so a few times prior to that, and it was always a bit of a task.
I wish I could be of more help to you, other than to say to try seeing
if you have any open windows with the Window chooser menu. Also, see if you
can download individual songs again one by one.

Let me start by saying that I am not an ICloud user as of yet. I
definitely plan to be eventually once I get some money, but anyway, that's
totally aside the point...
Basically, I'm using ITunes 10.5.1 with Snowleopard, although I had a
friend who very thoroughly tested this on Lion, and had the exact same
results.
What the deal is, is that I am trying to redownload some tracks from
ITunes which I've already purchased in the past. What's really really
weird however, is that I seem to be having major! focus issues. Here are
the steps I'm taking.
1. Press vo+D to focus myself on the dock.
2. press i t to reach ITunes.
3. Press return to launch ITunes. Note: disregard steps 1-3 if ITunes
is already running.
4. Once in ITunes, press command+Shift+H to go to the store home page.
5. Press vo+U to open my web rotor, then make sure I'm on the links
section, which 9 times out of 10, I am.
6. type p u r to land myself on the purchased link. Then vo+space twice
to click it.
7. Vo+right arrow to find the name of the artist whom I'm wanting to
download tracks from.
8. once on the name of the artist, vo+command+F5 to route my mouse
pointer to the vo cursor. (I have it said to follow, but just to be on the
safe side...
9. vo+shift+space to literally mouse click the item.
10. I'm on a macbook, so, fn+vo+right arrow... (vo+end...) then start vo
left arrowing to move up the page until I find the download all button.
11. Vo+Space on the button, and boom!
In theory, that works, but here is the problem I'm running into:
For some? reason, voiceover's not correctly focusing 90% of the time. It
seems like it happens when an artist isn't on the first page, thus meaning
from a visial perspective, now I don't have the vision to definitely
confirm this, but based on some tests I ran, which I'll cover here in
justa second, I'd say my theory would be extremely likely. It seems like!
if! the screen has to scroll to visually reveal more artists, then the
problem occurs. Otherwise, it doesn't. If I have to go way down in my
list of artists, then! try to route the mouse, and click, it's wanting to
then click the apple menu up in the menu bar instead of clicking where I
need it to.
Now for the tests I ran to try trouble shooting this.
First of all, I wanted to see for real, where the mouse actually was
landing. I thus routed the mouse as normal, then hit vo+F5. Sure enough!
Apple menu is under the mouse. I tried actually sliding my finger around
on the track pad to move it away from the apple menu, then rerouting, but
I got identically the same thing. I then thought, well, hmm, it only
seems to be doing this with certain artists. What if I try with an artist
more near the top of the list...
I tried this theory. Sure enough! I routed the mouse, did my vo+F5, and
observed that I landed correctly on the artist, and when doing
vo+shift+space, it clicked, and all was perfect! I then tried again
scrolling way down my list, and doing the same thing. It landed me again
on the Apple Menu. That's why I say, I almost wonder if somehow, for some
bizarre reason, though I can't for the life a me imagine why, the screen's
not scrolling visually along with the voiceover cursor, thus, when I try
routing the mouse, it can't as there is nothing to route to! Does that
make any sense? Hope so.
So next thing I did is I tried hitting vo+shift+F3 to disable cursor
tracking. I then proceeded to try the same thing all over again, but had
the same result.
Finally, I tried while in the html content area and whilst interacting,
obviously, to vo+twist clockwize on the trackpad to turn on trackpad
commander. I then tried to 3 finger flick up, to see if maybe I could
somehow scroll the screen that way. It did! say page 2 of 2, at that
point. the really! strange thing was that now, get a loada! this! the
Voiceover cursor was still! on the same place. Even though I'd scrolled,
apparently, the voiceover cursor remained right where it was. still
though, just? outta chance, I did the same thing by routing the mouse,
then trying to click. Absolutely no good. It still brought the Apple Menu
up. I did reopen ITunes, and also did restart the mac, and I did also
restart Voiceover. Absolutely nothing worked.
This is not a matter of my Voiceover settings in the voiceover utility
being set wrong, as a friend of mine on Lion with totally different
voiceover settings than myself tried the exact same thing, and had
identically the same behavior. So not only is it that, but it's not even
an OS specific issue, as I'm on 10.6, he's on 10.7 Lion.
I've not yet reported this to
accessibility@xxxxxxxxx
but I definitely am going to, provided no one here knows a work around, or
knows any way to deal with this.
I could use my IPhone and just do it that way, then sync to my mac, but
the issue there is I don't want all these downloads on my phone.
You say, well then, just delete it off the music device playlist in your
sources list. Well, that's all good n all, but, when I interact with the
sources list, then vo+back slash to expand my IPhone, then vo+down arrow
to the music playlist, I then stop interacting, vo+left arrow once to the
search box, type in, say... oh, I dono... we'll just say... Rockstar by
Nickleback, so I type Rockstar. Then I vo+right arrow to the table. I do
see it, but the check box is dimmed, for one thing in the second I think
it is, collumn. If I hit the delete key, nothing happens, and if I
vo+shift+space, the context menu doesn't have a remove option. Yeah, I do
sync my music with a specific playlist which I call Transfers, instead of
my whole library, as I have too much to sync everything. even going to
the transfers playlist on the IPhone... in there, I don't even see the
songs I search for, and oddly, if I go to the actual artist playlist on
the macbook in ITunes itself, even though the song's in my library after
synking my IPhone, it's not in the local transfers playlist. So the only
thing to do is delete it from my library, which defeats the whole entire
purpose.
I'm having even worse luck in windows, with jaws 12, as that thing gives
me the virtual pc cursor, but past that, I can't tab around, nor do
insert+F7 for my link's list, nor arrow around. If I do, I just hear
blank, blank, blank. It's like f, you, too! LOL! I'll blank blank blank
you! in a minute!
So yeah... does anyone! have any? un! Godly! idea?
Please do not write back telling me, well, I add things with command+o to
get an open dialog then just do it that way. Realize... I'm not trying to
import a song on my drive that I've already got. If that is what you
think, then you're totally confused. I'm not wanting to import things on
my drive. that's not even close! to what I'm doing. I am trying again in
the actual? ITunes store! to download music which has been lost in a hard
disk crash, that I did not get the chance to first back up before
reinstalling the OS. I want to redownload things not in my library nor on
my drive which I already purchased. I again am not an ITunes Max member,
and I don't back my stuff up to ICloud either.
Thanks for any and all help.
Chris.
