Remarkably, nail clippers are finally okay again. I tested this: I took a pair of nail
clippers on a flight to San Diego a few days ago. No problem.
But every form of gel or liquid, incl. toothpaste, soap, etc., was being confiscated at the
airport. Actually, it was all dumped into a large garbage can.
