this is your basic, fall-back, counter-argument, isn't it? And it means
that if someone here gives a whole list of gays who don't fit your image,
you'll say "but they aren't what I mean by gays".

A.A. I mean by "gays" those who indulge in the gay lifestyle, as it is
practiced in the gay bars and bathhouses found in gay communities. Whether the
ones sitting at one table like S&M and the ones sitting at another table like
sushi and the guys sitting at yet another table like to sticks forks into each
other is not the issue. We're not talking Invasion of the Body Snatchers, pod
people with built in transmitters who all do the same thing.

Evans: Let me tell you anyway that there are "scene* gays, S/M gays, and other
gays, who just do not fit your image at all. They don't wear skirts. They
don't like being er the subordinate sexual partner. Etc.. And of course
there are many men who cross-dress who are not gay (the man who won our
major Art prize this year is one such).

A.A. Really? All gays don't wear skirts? Well, golly.

>Now the question becomes, why such an
> emphasis on youth and appearance,

Evans: as opposed to the "heterosexual" world?

A.A. Yes. Been to the Wal-Mart nearest you lately? Heteros are fat with beat
up jeans that show their butts when they bend over (the ones who can bend
over). They waddle to their cars with their lava lamps falling out of their
overflowing shopping carts. Gays exercise and take meticulous care of their
appearance. Yes, Judith, very unlike the heterosexual world of middle America.

really? I hadn't noticed. *Proof*?

A.A. Sorry, not my problem if you hadn't noticed. As far as proof, look in
the dictionary. I think you'll find coincidence means two things that happen
at the same time. Gays have set themselves up as the arbiters of taste and
style, i.e., of appearance, in today's world. Donal, help this woman out, will
ya?

A.A.
