That would probably work against the idea of Linux where libraries are for the system, so removing duplication. As for knowing when distributions will change liblouis version, that is a general problem but for distribution supplied packages is something the packager for the distribution will have sorted out.


In short, the best idea would be to try and work to get distributions to package liblouisutdml, then the distribution will have to ensure a suitable liblouis version is included.
