I've also kept (too?) many of the lenses. I can at least vouch for no ill effects after 15 years. Re organic cementing: I'm certainly not suggesting dunking or soaking an entire lens or cemented elements into a container of fluid! Also, the suggestion is for cleaning off serious dirt/grease. While I have every reason to think it is perfectly safe, I'd still avoid using it every day (same goes for any cleaning). Common sense please... (and don't smoke while using it) ;-) ----- Original Message ---- From: Sonny Carter <sonc.hegr@xxxxxxxxx> To: leicareflex@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sat, January 16, 2010 7:01:10 PM Subject: [LRflex] Re: formula for lens cleaning fluid On Sat, Jan 16, 2010 at 11:51 AM, David Simms <simmszee@xxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hmmmm. As far as buying, fixing up and selling, how do you know the long term effects of lighter fluid on the lenses? You don't have them any more. I think I'd just be careful. Less is more with lenses. ------ Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: http://www.lrflex.furnfeather.net/ Archives are at: //www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/
