Yea, I know he's retired. I've had a couple of cameras rebuilt by Gerry, the latest was a M4-2, last fall. They always come back with a really neat feel to them. Microfiber cloths ??? Could you fill me in ? Lens, or filter, cleaning is problematic because glass is an insulator and when you rub insulators you place an electric charge on them. Then, dust particles may be attracted and you take a step backward. I would think that water vapour might be difficult to remove completely for the same reason. Water is a polar molecule and it would be attracted to the charge we place on the glass. Seems to make sense...Maybe that could be one reason for the witches' brew. Hi Dave! Gerry retired a year, or more, ago, from Kindermann, though he still does some of their repairs on a part time basis ... I think, from his home. He is, however, still in the office, every now and again. Thus, it may be a while until you get a reply. Still, I will be very interested to see what he has to say. I know Dr. Ted is a proponent of the well washed, old underwear school... which works very well. Myself, I'm sold on the virtues of Microfiber cloths. (Some day, I'll tell you why.)
