My Tom Tom has complete coverage of IOM roads. It even indicates openings into farm fields; not as the way to go!

The added point about satnav is that there isn't any road coverage in the Isle of Man anyway so if you come over here you are back to maps.. I do have a satnav of sorts as I use Memory Map in the car. Loaded with the OS maps it provides good street coverage with no whining voice to tell you where to go. Mostly I know my way around anyway but can easily get lost around the estates in Douglas or Onchan. When rallies or races are on I use it to route through the back streets and minimise detours. bones bones@xxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Peter Dodds Sent: 11 July 2009 10:58 To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: pdodds@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jhb] Re: Tom Tom If I lived there I probably wouldn't! I particularly like Ireland for it's detachment from the ratrace outside Dublin, and my assumption is that IoM is similar. I wanted to retire to Ireland, but I got married again instead. :-| Peter*From:* "Fossil" <fossil@xxxxxxx> *To:* <jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> *Date:* Fri, 10 Jul 2009 19:21:30 +0100 You assume we never take our cars over to the UK or Europe... bones bones@xxxxxxx -----Original Message-----From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On BehalfOf Peter Dodds Sent: 10 July 2009 16:16 To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: pdodds@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jhb] Re: Tom TomI am intrigued why, on an island half the size of London, with less than 100th the population, and just 4 towns, 4 villages and 16 parishes, youneed a Tom Tom. Now if it was Ireland...I was in Tipperary last week and got lost within 5 miles of my friends'house - and that was after having stayed there for 3 days.
