The added point about satnav is that there isn't any road coverage in the Isle of Man anyway so if you come over here you are back to maps.. I do have a satnav of sorts as I use Memory Map in the car. Loaded with the OS maps it provides good street coverage with no whining voice to tell you where to go. Mostly I know my way around anyway but can easily get lost around the estates in Douglas or Onchan. When rallies or races are on I use it to route through the back streets and minimise detours. bones bones@xxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Peter Dodds Sent: 11 July 2009 10:58 To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: pdodds@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jhb] Re: Tom Tom If I lived there I probably wouldn't! I particularly like Ireland for it's detachment from the ratrace outside Dublin, and my assumption is that IoM is similar. I wanted to retire to Ireland, but I got married again instead. :-| Peter > *From:* "Fossil" <fossil@xxxxxxx> > *To:* <jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > *Date:* Fri, 10 Jul 2009 19:21:30 +0100 > > You assume we never take our cars over to the UK or Europe... > > bones > bones@xxxxxxx > > > -----Original Message----- > From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On > Behalf > Of Peter Dodds > Sent: 10 July 2009 16:16 > To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Cc: pdodds@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [jhb] Re: Tom Tom > > I am intrigued why, on an island half the size of London, with less > than > 100th the population, and just 4 towns, 4 villages and 16 parishes, > you > need a Tom Tom.
