Same thing here.
Amazon confirmed the cards had been redeemed and know the account they were
redeemed to – but they can’t tell me who this was. I asked them if they would
provide that information to the police but they seemed totally uninterested.

Happy New Year everyone.
Had a similar scenario recently. The wife's card was refused at the local
garden centre. Paid with mine, but she immediately received a call from the
bank stating unusual use and they'd stopped the card. Had she spent £1055
online at Debenhams? No. OK, we were to let them know when the item appeared
on her account and they would investigate!
We wanted to protect her £1055, but they confirmed this was the usual way.
Once home, I rang Debenhams to check my order, and sure enough it was a sofa,
delivery in 2 weeks!!
I explained the situation, but although they had a delivery address, not ours,
they couldn't provide the information so that I could contact the police, or
Barclays fraud dept. Reason: Data protection.......
I remember a time when we used things and loved people. It all seems backwards
lately.

All you need do Peter is go to //www.freelists.org/list/jhb ;
Add your new email address and select Subscribe.
I should then get an email to approve your request and can set the rest up.
I’ve just finished a battle with Amazon today so I’m definitely in GOM mode. I
ordered two gift vouchers for Christmas presents and when they arrived someone
had scratched the foil off the redeem code. A quick check showed that the cards
had already been redeemed before delivery. Seems a simple matter to explain to
Amazon but it became a headache and, finally, they offered to refund the
amount. They don’t seem at all concerned about tracking the stolen money even
though they know who redeemed the cards. What a daft world!

I saw this msg from Frank some time ago, but have only just remembered I wanted
to do the same. I have a gmail account which is peterwmdodds@xxxxxxxxx, so
Bones - i wonder if you could change my profile to use that address. It will
be slightly more convenient too, as i have that address on my phone, and we
seem to use our phones for everything except making tea these days!
