Windows based ones? No linux based screen readers? extremely well in linux. The latest jaws under remote telnet sessions with the echo set to some for emacs sessions works well and set to all for just reading the screens works well using the standard telnet which ships with xp. Firefox works reasonable well but doesn't offer all the functionality of the IE scripts You mus t use your jaws curser to navigate the non-link elements of the webpage. ----- Original Message ----- From: "AB7HW Dick Lee Chrisman" <ab7hw@xxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, November 13, 2004 6:19 AM Subject: Re: web browsers and jfw > My understanding is that firefox is a Lenix based program. > I have not heard of any screen readers that function well in a Lenix > environment, have you? > I tried Firefox with JFW 5.00.844 and could not read anything with the PC > cursor, only with the JFW cursor. > I finally removed Firefox and went back to IE(Internet Explorer)! > So it sounds good, but not JFW friendly! > Dick > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "james hooper" <aradioman@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Saturday, November 13, 2004 6:10 AM > Subject: web browsers and jfw > > > > hi gang has anyone tried using the ulternative web browser firefox i read > > about it on the kim commando website seems this browser is not as prone > > too attacks and such like internet explorer. > > > > > > -- > > To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to > jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line. > > Archives located at: //www.freelists.org/archives/jfw > > > > If you have any concerns about the list, post received from the list, or > the way the list is being run, do not post them to the list.
