yes, deleting the freedomscientific folder from the registry should pretty
much do it but you'd have to use narrator or have someone do it who can read
the screen. Narrator is tough to use with regedit though.

Since it is a new pc, you might not have a newer driver for it. It is
possible though depending on how long the system sat around or the
components sat around or the hard drive sat around that you might need a new
driver. The best way to find out if there is a new driver is to open
control pannel, open system, ctrl+tab t the hardware page, tab to the device
manager button and activate it with space or enter, tab to the list, find
your display adapter, tab to and activate the properties button, ctrl+tab to
the driver page, click update driver and see if it finds one. There will
most likely not be a roll back.

On another note, have you run windows update since you got the pc? If it
doesn't already have sp2 on it and you haven't run it in a while, you might
want to install all the updates other than sp2 which we'll talk about in a
few weeks. I just updated a system today and found that there have been 6
new security updates posted in the last couple of weeks since I did the last
update on that system.

Don't hesitate to drop me a line off list if I can help with stuff that may
stray from the topic of jaws.

Hi David

Wow. It sounds like you really know your stuff. Oops, I guess we
misused Msconfig in Windows 98 because we used selective startup all the
time.

Okay. About the video drivers. Since this is a brand new system, how
would I go about finding an older video driver? Or finding a newer one
for that matter? Since it's a Del system, do I go to the Del support
pages and check their downloads? That might show me a new driver, but I
doubt they'd offer older ones for download.

Sorry, but anything to do with drivers is beyond what I know right now.
Sorry for needing to be walked through this.

Also, if I do try uninstalling Jaws down to the registry level, how do I
find the appropriate entries in the registry? Would it be safe to find
the Freedom Scientific folder and just delete all of it? I did see that
in there under Software. I know where it is, but I can't remember
offhand right now.

Jean
