Hi I just started using the Window Defender recently . I wondering which option I should use scanning my computer each day?At the moment it is on "quick scan" position it last about 2 minutes to complete the scanning.
Few days ago I try to scanning for first time in "full scan" position, but I canceled the scanning because it was still going on after two and half an hours .!
Why it does take too long to complete? My question how often the full scanning position need to be use? Thank you for any help Ronnie----- Original Message ----- From: "Frankie. V." <frankmventura@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Roger, in addition to Spybot and Addaware, there is Windows Defender.Windows Defender is a free spyware removal tool from Microsoft which can beset to run automatically at a specified time each day or each week. Also when you install Spybot there is an optional component called "teatimer" which you should install. It gives you some real time monitoring of yoursystem for spyware infestation. Sluggish system performance can be caused bymany things but a spyware scan is the first place to start. After that a disk defragmentation is a good idea as well. Jaws seems to be hesitating inresponding to my keystrokes. I'm Running Mcafee virus scan. I have my Mcafee firewall plus, privacy service, and span killer disabled, because it causesall sorts of problems with the computer. I do have a router with a premium firewall, and I also use the Windows firewall. A couple of people told me that it could be because of spyware. I did a Spyware scan by, PC Pitstop's Free Optimize scan. And it told me that I had a couple of cookies with tracking history. I was a little upset because it said it was free. And after I downloaded, agreed to terms and conditions, installed, and waitedfor the half an hour for the scan. I got to the last step to delete the two cookies, and it told me that I needed to purchase the software to eliminatethem. I wasted a whole morning and got nowhere. Needless to say, Not happy here. Can anyone tell me of a "free" program that will detect spyware? And not only that, can anyone tell me why Jaws would be hesitant? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
